The Good Old Days

Backpacks-Street-Style

Remember the good old days? Passing notes in class praying your teacher wouldn’t catch you. Hoping your 6th grade crush would sit next to you in the lunchroom. Playing with pogs. AOL 3.0 chatrooms. Away messages. Friendship bracelets. Making up dances. The only stress you had was where would the next slumber party be. It’s hard to believe all that time has gone by, and I can’t help but remember those great childhood years. Something I owned too many of back in the day was the backpack (all the way from Jansport to those fake Prada ones everyone I went to school with carried). I was all about the backpack. In time I was over that stage and thought they were uncool, but I guess I spoke too soon. I’m feeling backpacks again (as I mentioned in this post), and I’m not ashamed to say it.

Spring Outerwear

I know a massive blizzard recently plowed through the Northeast, but my mind is focused on spring. Of course, cold days are still on the horizon, but soon enough, it will feel like spring across the country. I love that time of year when you can wear a lightweight jacket and be comfortable from dawn until dusk. From the chillier mornings to the warmer afternoons, one light piece of outerwear can take you throughout the entire day. I have my eye on more than one at the moment. From jean and leather jackets to colorful blazers to fabulous trench coats, I’m fully ready for the new season to begin.

stars and stripes

I know it couldn’t be further from July 4th, but I’m feeling stars and stripes these days. Whether in the way of a dress, necklace, tee, scarf, mittens, mug; they are prints I’m loving lately. I know I know, these aren’t groundbreaking prints, but they are still very much on my mind at this moment. If you aren’t one who likes to wear anything but solids, you can still add stars, stripes (or both) into your wardrobe in very simple ways. Throw on a lightweight scarf or add a necklace to spice things up a bit. Luckily, both star and stripe prints are very popular and available at all price points. I pledge Allegiance…
