recharge and reboot

There are few things that truly relax me and get me in a ‘zen-like’ mindset. Yesterday I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and realized I needed to take a time out. In the middle of the day, I decided to not look at my emails or do any work for 30 minutes. I know this doesn’t seem like a long time, but it felt like an eternity and it felt wonderful. I sat down, turned on my favorite Pandora station, and gave myself a manicure. It relaxed me and once I was done, I was ready to get back to my (what felt like) endless hours of work. I then had an event to go to last night, and I knew I needed to wake myself up and snap out of my tired state of mind. When I make a point to not rush as I’m getting ready, it makes all the difference. I spent ample time on each part of my makeup, and I didn’t have to speed through the process. Once I was dressed and ready to walk out the door, I felt amped up and ready to go. Sometimes you just need to take time for yourself to truly recharge.

And…

I’m so excited because today I’m the It Girl on The Glossy Life! Make sure to check out my fun feature on Alyssa’s fabulous blog.

Laura Geller Makeup

Every morning (most mornings) when we wake up and wash our face, putting on makeup is next in line. It’s one of the most important steps within the morning routine. For such a long time now I’ve been wearing the same bronzer. I have tried others here and there over the years, but I always end up purchasing my Laura Geller one over and over again. When I received a package of samples and it included so much more than just bronzer, I was beyond excited to try some of her other items out. I’m so  thrilled because I absolutely love every single item that was sent to me and I’ve been wearing everything non stop. My makeup drawer is now filled with Laura Geller products, and I most certainly plan for it to stay that way.

inside my closet

I’m not sure what it is, but I love to see what’s inside someone’s closet. I love seeing how they organize their clothing and accessories. I know I’m not alone in saying this. Maybe we all like it because it brings us inspiration or maybe we’re just a bit nosey. Whatever the case may be, closets are important to a girl. Small or big, it’s where all your fashion and style resides. No wonder we’re all so intrigued. Today I welcome you to take a peek into my closet.

On top of the chest in my closet, I have my perfume tray and a small collection of mini shoes.

A sampling of my scarves which hang on organizers similar to this one.

One of my jewelry drawers – filled with bangles and some of my everyday pieces and special trinkets.

A portion of my makeup drawer – I organize in sections (one for brushes, face, eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascaras, utensils, and lips).

Art on the wall between my closet and our bathroom – a kimono.
