Weekend Review

pizza

(making a bit of a trek on Saturday night to get pizza at what is apparently the best pizza place in Houston)

It’s interesting. For so many years of my life I would crave the weekends like it was nobody’s business. I would count the minutes until those 2 glorious days off, and I would be so extremely upset when Sunday night rolled around because Monday was on the horizon. Now, I’m not about to tell you I have the best job in the world and every single day is perfect (because, well, that’s obviously not true). However, I am going to say that I’ve come to a place in my life where I can honestly say I do love my job, and I look forward to waking up and doing my job most days. Of course, there are times I get frustrated, upset, and annoyed, but overall, I’m very content with my 9-5 situation (it’s never actually 9-5, but let’s go with it). Yes, I still love my weekends, but I no longer dread Sunday nights or count the seconds until it’s Friday at 5. It’s a nice feeling. And, with that, I hope you all have a great weekend!

(going to a pottery studio on Saturday afternoon, and I couldn’t be more excited (it’ll bring me back to my elementary school days))

(no, I’m not going to Paris this weekend, but a girl can dream)

We had a great couple of days in Austin. We literally ate our way through the city, so a detox has officially begun. However, it was totally worth it (next time you’re in Austin I highly recommend Lamberts (the best BBQ I’ve ever had…ever), South Congress Cafe, Magnolia Cafe, and Driskill Grill). I had been to Austin a few times (once in college and a couple times for weddings). While I loved Austin all those times, I didn’t really get to see Austin until this trip. This time I got to see everything, and Matthew was the perfect tour guide! I hope your weekends were wonderful, and for those that celebrated Christmas, I hope you had an incredible holiday.

weekend review

I think as the summer comes to an end the weekends feel shorter and shorter. I wish this past one could have lasted for days longer. My boyfriend and I went away for our anniversary and we had so much fun dining, drinking, swimming, relaxing, and just spending quality time alone together. Our trip ended yesterday at a burger joint on the beach that was extremely delicious. As soon as I got home I had way too much work to do, but weekends like the one we had make doing work that much easier. Here’s to Monday!

If you’ve read my About Me page, you know meatballs are my absolute favorite.
