Jul’s Gems

I’m really excited the weekend is here. Tomorrow Matthew and I are heading to Austin for a couple days, and I can’t wait to get away. My plan (and I hope I can stick to it) is to not answer one email or do any sort of work while away. Even though I really do my best to try to disconnect before bed, it almost never works. I go to bed with to-do lists and ideas running through my head, and by the time I wake up I rarely feel I’m completely rested. I always try my best to give my undivided attention to those I’m with at the time, and to truly value each moment. Have a great weekend!

I made Mint Chocolate Brownies for a dinner party this past week, and they were absolutely delicious.

An old file cabinet Matthew purchased at an antique shop will soon be refinished and turned into something new for his mancave.

Jul’s Gems

This past week was one of those ‘realization’ weeks. Sometimes I think we’re all guilty of taking things for granted and not taking the time to really appreciate what we have and those in our lives. I’ll admit that I have taken things and situations for granted in the past, and it’s nice to really think about the relationships you have whether with family, friends, significant others, or colleagues.

For some reason, when I was younger I didn’t say ‘I love you’ a lot. It’s not that I didn’t love people in my life, but I just didn’t say the words. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized life is too short to not say those words. Whether to a parent, grandparent, child, significant other, or friend, those words mean more than one can imagine. I try to make an effort to say those three little words as much as possible because I don’t ever want the loved ones in my life to not know how much they mean to me. Even though it was more of a stressful week, I still came across some gems to share with all of you. Have a great weekend.

My absolute favorite popcorn of all time from Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop.

I love the colors in this vase, and I think it would brighten up any room.

A beautiful table from my boyfriend’s sister’s 30th birthday luncheon.

Rainbow sprinkles. Enough said.

Very neat art (all different cities, and most of which I have lived in).
